MUSHROOMING OF TEST PREPARATION INSTITUTES IN INDIA

“Test preparation institutes” institutes with this name can be found at each and every corner of the country. There are dozens of institutes coming up every day and they are also functioning very well gaining profits.
The main reason for the mushrooming of these institutes is the parents. Students pursuing their Graduation and Post Graduation have made a mind that they should take up coaching from these institutes, so as to get succeeded in their tests. Competitive tests for which the institutes offer coaching like I-CET, EAMCET, E-CET, Bank POs etc...The students trained under these coaching  institutes are very well aware about  the   in knowledge shared at these institutes, but the attracting factor is their marketing strategy.

The colleges have failed miserably  in providing coaching to the students and more over the syllabus in the tests are nothing but basics of the syllabus which the students have already learned in their academics. Only thing that the colleges should do is to provide basic information about the contents of the tests ,so that a common student can know the contents and can examine himself whether he is capable or does he need some more knowledge which he can gain from these institutes with his own will.

The government has not made a strict rule that all the colleges should provide ample information about the tests and guide them and this is becoming a plus point to the institutes and they are consulting the students, having conversations with them and as they have the efficient staff with them, they are able to grab the attention of the students as well as the parents and making money out of it. No doubt that there are many institutes working hard and many students are getting so much out of these institutes but there are many other institutes which are not permitting the students to know their capabilities.

The government has not controlled the institutes in the beginning and now they are slowly initiating the government .the government can slow down the mushrooming of test preparation institutes by examining their efficiency before giving permission to them.

The students should also examine themselves and decide whether they really need the coaching or are capable to attend the tests by themselves.

Is joining a coaching center necessary to Qualify an Exam?

"A coaching classes helps students to understand the subject deeply", replied a parent (a housewife, Mumbai) when the above mentioned question was asked. And the working couple replied, "We don't have much time to pay attention to our child's activities, so its better that we know he is at coaching center than worrying about him."

However, when the same was asked to a  tenth grade student the answer was, "I don't listen much in the classroom when I know the same thing would be taught again at the coaching class."

In reality, its a myth that students learn more when taught twice. It really may not be the case with majority of the students. They need to understand their capability and if the school/college teaching is not enough, then coaching classes could be a good idea. Listening to the repeated performance of the same lecture not only wastes double money out of the parents pockets, but it also wastes the student's time which could be used in other productive abilities for the betterment of the student

"I take crash course for the subject I am not good at.", answered a third year engineering student. And this idea is actually appreciated by most of the people. This approach is followed in most of the the competitive exams preparation. So, if its true for some exams, why not for every exam? The students should try to tackle the subject on their own and if the find difficulties, they can take a short duration class. This way, the students can know their positive and negative points. And along with that, they can save a lot of time (and money, ofcourse) by taking selected classes for selected duration. And the confidence which comes by knowing the subject by own instead of some classes is much more.

So guys, get up! Do what you like. Enjoy your hobbies. Don't listen to the things twice. Do them on your own. Your school/college teachers are always with you if you don't understand anything. And if not that (because many students like coaching classes teachers more), you can always ask friends! (or you can Google things up, which is what you always do for most of the other problems.)
