Computers: A fading Career option?

Computers as a career option are  more important than they ever were. It was in the nineties that Microsoft changed the computing world and technology has never looked back from then. As a career option, the field can never fade away. On the contrary, it is the next big thing in the job spectrum.

With time the human race has learnt to be dependent on computers in ways that were inconceivable in the past. Offices are incomplete without them, even a student now heavily depends on them.  The need is such that every household has at least one computer. Every individual owns a laptop or a notebook. Even everyday experience is incomplete without these machines. Shopping is offered online, food can be ordered and technology has made it possible to explore the world and even space through niche services like Google earth.

These uses of computers in businesses, manufacturing, education, research has such a vast scope that goes beyond the limit of this article. The future is brighter because from hereon there can be nothing else but an increase in the already unmentionable scope. The mobile sector has took up computing and defined it in its own unique way and it’s is a healthy war going on in the market with Android, IOS, Windows, Symbian fighting to conquer the market. The applications that these new operating systems require have opened a whole new domain in the job sector with developers gaining great advantage from the competitive atmosphere.

Future innovations in the areas of robotics, space research, medical, science would surely rely heavily on computing. Innovation is being define and redefined every day and computers as a career option is as indispensable as ever.

One can be a software engineer, a developer, a technical analyst, a graphic designer, technical writer to name just a few of the options attached to the field. Even creative streams like designing and writing, as mentioned, now rely heavily on computing and offer great new job opportunities.

It cannot be seen as a coincidence that some of the richest people in the world are attached with computers in some way or the other. Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Mark Zukerberg, Sergey Brin are just some of these names. The world can never see computers fading out. It is now impossible to go back to a pre-computing world. In fact the scope of these cannot even be imagined right now.
